The renowned Tianjin State Medical University was established in 1951. It was granted authority by the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. Tianjin medical College and Tianjin Second State College were integrated in December 1993.
It is also one of the 97 universities in the state to be granted the status of the official universities. The seven-year medical program was started here in 1988.
